Alliance to Save Energy Berkeley Lab collaborates with the Alliance to Save Energy on the Industrial Partnership activities. Vestal Tutterow, who spent seven years with Berkeley Lab working with Industry Partnerships, and others within the Alliance’s Industrial Team work closely with the Lab developing Industrial Partnerships and assisting the U.S. Department of Energy’s Save Energy Now initiative.
Additionally, Berkeley Lab and the Alliance are exploring new ways to enrich Industrial Partnerships and other existing programs at US DOE, Berkeley Lab, and the Alliance. For example, providing adequate and safe supplies of water to a growing global population is becoming increasingly difficult and is energy intensive. Watergy is an Alliance water and energy efficiency program created to address this situation. The Lab, through its Water and Energy Technology Team (WETT), is working with the Alliance to explore potential activities related to water-energy efficiency.
Berkeley Lab and the Alliance to Save Energy are also exploring opportunities to expand industrial energy efficiency programs in other countries. In cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Lab and the Alliance are pursuing training, demonstration and program development activities which would lead to the development of industrial energy efficiency standards. |
